LAD: Old Kukkovka – New Approaches
(February-August 2005)

Improvement of the social situation of at-risk families living in the area Old Kukkovka to increase their inclusion in the public life of the town and republic. The project aimed to change the stereotypes and attitudes of society towards dysfunctional families, while also improving the self-esteem of families at risk.

Project activities were based on the results of a survey conducted with at-risk families that assessed their social and living conditions. A series of trainings and support sessions were organized for families on issues of health, family relationships, self confidence, and legal family issues. Seminars were also organized for volunteers that work with at-risk families. Participating families also received “healthy bags” with vitamins, juice and other food supplements.
